The National Union of Journalists' Claudia Jones Memorial Lecture takes place this year on 5 December at 7pm online. The event open to all, is titled "How can the activism of Claudia Jones Help us to Understand the 2024 United States Presidential Election?
This year's National Union of Journalists Claudia Jones Memorial Lecture comes at an important moment weeks after Donald Trump becomes president-elect for the United States.
Claudia Jones was not just an excellent journalist, but she was also an internationally important activist who worked to link the theories of Black liberation to practical action.
Speakers on the evening will be Roger McKenzie, Black Members' Council acting chair and Margaret Kimberley, executive editor and senior columnist of Black Agenda Report and the current host of the Black Agenda Radio podcast heard on Pacifica stations WBAI in New York and WPFW in Washington.
