Reddit released several Ads Manager features Monday morning aimed at making it easier for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to get started running campaigns on the platform. The company turns 20 years old in June.
Jim Squires, executive vice president of business marketing and growth at Reddit, believes the updates are part of the company's ongoing work to simplify and streamline each step of the experience in Reddit Ads.
The company has been working to expand its advertising platform to smaller companies, similar to the way Google, Microsoft and Meta did. Along with its Google partnership, advertisers on its platform now have access to the one-click Google Tag Manager integration for the Reddit Pixel.advertisement

Reddit works differently than other social platforms. Its focus remains on subreddit communities that share information on specific topics.
The focus works well for brands wanting to target ads. It allows them to reach people based on interests without invasive tracking. Subredditors talk openly about products, providing honest feedback and real conversations between people looking for answers.
A major driver behind Reddit’s growth, despite the decline in its stock, is its increasing visible content in search results. The platform provides authentic opinions rather than marketing content. But it took years for the company, brands and users to realize the potential in the platform.
Reddit will be 20 years old in June, and every second 100 people add it to their search queries, Reddit CMO Roxy Young told The Drum.
Setting up the Reddit Pixel has become easier, the company said. Its website conversions tag has made the process easier by integrating it with Google Tag Manager (GTM). Advertisers can install the Reddit Pixel in just a few clicks. It sends conversion data to Reddit and in minutes can establish strong performance for ads.
Advertisers then can begin measuring their customer journey and campaign results, and optimize toward a lower marketing funnel strategy with less effort.
Event Manager Quality Assurance (QA), an enhanced Events Overview page in the Events Manager, will help advertisers gain a better view and verify event activity received via the Reddit Pixel or their Conversions API (CAPI) integration.
This update provides details of conversion events that advertisers send, ensuring they can run lower-funnel campaigns and allowing them to easily identify any issues.
The Campaign Import feature, which also launched today, allows advertisers to import ad campaigns from Meta directly to Reddit in just 3 steps. After securely signing into their Meta account in the Reddit Ads Manager, advertisers can select an ad account and campaign to import, then tweak their campaign to optimize performance for Reddit. This transforms existing high-performing ads into a Reddit marketing strategy.
Simplified Campaign Quality Assurance (QA) is a review page in the Reddit Ads Manager that displays all campaign build details together, making it easy for advertisers to quickly get an overview of their campaign settings. If anything looks
incorrect, advertisers can navigate to the appropriate campaign, ad group, or ad from this new navigation and make edits directly before hitting publish.
Reddit in 2011 became an independent subsidiary of Condé Nast's parent company, Advance Publications, but it was founded in 2005 by Steve Huffman, Alexis Ohanian, and Aaron Swartz.
The company did not start investing in ad technology until 2018, but began selling ads in 2006. On Monday things changed as the company launched several new ad services.
Squires said Reddit will continue to make improvements to the Reddit Ads Manager to make it easier for SMBs to launch and manage campaigns.
