MONROE — A Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken restaurant is expected to open in Monroe.

It's planned for the former location of One-Hour Martinizing, 845 S. Monroe St., between American Diner and Spin Clean Coin Laundry.

The One-Hour Martinzing building has been vacant for at least five years, said Amy Mohr, the City of Monroe’s communications specialist.

At the City of Monroe's March 10 Citizen Planning Commission meeting, conditional approval was granted for the project.

Mark Cochran, the City of Monroe’s economic and community development director, said, “The Planning Commission provided conditional approval of their site plan on Monday evening. There is no timeline yet (for opening). Once they satisfy the conditions of the site plan approval, they can begin applying for building permits.”
