Blue Water awarded logistics contract by Yinson Production for Angola-bound FPSO

Danish logistics provider Blue Water Shipping has sealed a deal with Singapore-based floater specialist Yinson Production for the transportation of topside modules for the Agogo floating storage, production and offloading vessel.

The AGOGO FPSO will be operated by Yinson Production in the West Hub field of Block 15/06 offshore Angola for Azule Energy, a joint venture between BP and Eni.

The contract covers the transportation of 15 modules, with the heaviest weighing 3211 metric tonnes. The first shipping is scheduled for May and will involve both domestic transportation within China and international shipping from Indonesia and Vietnam to China.

Jason Goh, Blue Water’s regional director of Asia, said: “This collaboration is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team at Blue Water. We are eager to contribute our expertise and deliver outstanding logistics solutions.”

FPSO Agogo, once a VLCC Front Eminence, will be Yinson Production’s first offshore production project in Angola and its eighth FPSO project in the West African region. The unit will feature a carbon capture and storage (CSS) plant and other emissions-lowering technologies such as electrification, advanced automation and digitalisation, a combined-cycle power system, a seawater turbine generator, a hydrocarbon cargo tank blanketing scheme, and an integrated closed flare system.
