INSEAD Opens Americas Office in New York; Leading International Business School Expands its Global Footprint by Establishing U.S. Presence
Part of INSEAD's mission in establishing a presence in the U.S. will be to develop new relationships with North American corporations and better serve its existing clients with operations in the region. Professor J. Stewart Black will serve as Associate Dean of Executive Development Programs for the Americas. In this role, he will help advance INSEAD's mission to deliver innovative executive development programs that address relevant, current business issues and achieve measurable results for companies across geographies.
"The opening of our Americas office underscores our mission to offer business education that brings together people, cultures and ideas from around the world," said J. Frank Brown, Dean of INSEAD. "By establishing a presence in the U.S., we will not only be able to extend our reach in the executive education sector, but also continue to foster relationships with our extensive alumni base in the Americas."
The office opening has been made possible with the help of INSEAD alumni and other corporate supporters. Alastair Tedford (MBA '87), in association with his firm Albion Investors LLC, have served as the primary supporters in setting up the new space. Based in the heart of New York City, the office will be located at 75 Rockefeller Plaza.
INSEAD has long-standing national councils comprised of chairmen and CEOs in both the U.S. and Canada, who advise the school on topical issues in management, and support the school's interaction and outreach with the business community and alumni. Presently, INSEAD's U.S. Council is chaired by Dr. Roberto Buaron of First Atlantic Capital, and the Canada Council is chaired by Daniel Labrecque of Rothschild Canada. INSEAD's newest council - the U.S. West Coast Advisory Council - is led by Eric Benhamou of 3Com, Palm Inc. and Benhamou Global Ventures. This council was established six years ago in Silicon Valley to complement INSEAD's focus on global entrepreneurship, as well as the subsequent establishment of the Rudolf and Valeria Maag International Center for Entrepreneurship.
The school holds annual events with the Dean for alumni and corporations in both the U.S. and Canada, including its most recent Transcultural Leadership Awards dinner which honored John Thain and Jean-Franois Thodore of NYSE Euronext.
INSEAD will mark the opening of its U.S. office with an evening reception for 100 VIP attendees on October 29, taking place in New York City. The event will also celebrate the launch of Dean Frank Brown's book, The Global Business Leader: Practical Advice for Success in a Transcultural Marketplace.
