On 15 April, Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Jun Yamada.

Issues on the development of trade and economic relations between Japan and Armenia were discussed during the meeting.

The Deputy Prime Minister drew the interlocutor’s attention to the Armenian government’s actions for reforms in the economic system and stressed the fact that the government’s actions are creating new opportunities for foreign investors.

Ambassador Yamada highly appreciated the progress that Armenia has made in the high technologies sector and stressed the fact that Armenia’s experience can set an example for many other countries.

The sides also touched upon the Work Armenia program and, attaching importance to successful implementation of the program in terms of promotion of employment in Armenia, Deputy PM Avinyan stated that it is open to interested international partners.
