A comment from Keith Hernandez likely not meant for air was heard on SNY’s broadcast of Wednesday’s Mets-Marlins game.
As the broadcast returned from commercial for the top of the 11th inning, Hernandez is heard saying “piss-poor hitting.”
Silence followed, then seconds later, play-by-play announcer Gary Cohen started speaking as the music that plays upon return from commercial break began.
You can listen to the moment here.
The comment came after the 10th inning, in which Mets outfielder Tyrone Taylor singled to put runners on base, but was followed by a fly out from Luis Torrens, a pop up by Francisco Lindor, and a groundout from Juan Soto.
The Mets ended up scoring twice in the top of the 11th and holding Miami to one run at the bottom of the inning to win 6-5.
