TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Apple Inc announced the official launch schedule of the iPhone 16 series recently. According to Apple, several iPhone 16 series can be officially sold on the same day.

"Apple announced that the iPhone 16 lineup, including the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16e, will be available starting from Friday, April 11, 2025," Apple said on their Newsroom page quoted on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

The technology giant mentioned that several iPhone 16 series models will be available at the scheduled time and only at authorized official stores by Apple. For example, Digimap, the official partner for marketing Apple products in Indonesia, has already opened pre-order slots for the iPhone 16 series.

Referring to Apple's written statement on Friday, March 28, 2025, customers can pre-order the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro starting from March 28, 2025. The pre-order opportunity is open at 74 Digimap retail stores across Indonesia, the website www.digimap.co.id, and online stores on Shopee and Lazada.

Digimap collaborated with Indonesian designer Sebastian Gunawan for the launch of mobile accessories, namely exclusive phone charms and MagSafe wallets created with laser technique. General Manager Marketing Apple Business PT Map Zona Adiperkasa Farah Fausa Winarsih said this year is different from before.

"We always make bags. But this year Digimap and Sebastian Gunawan present very unique phone charms and magsafe wallets," she said in the written statement.

Referring to the certification site of Pos and Telekomunikasi (Postel), the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has given the green light for five variants of the iPhone 16 smartphones. The postel certificates issued for the iPhone 16 Pro Max are numbered108550/DJID/2025. Certificates for the iPhone 16 Pro are numbered 108552/DJID/2025; for the iPhone 16 Plus, the number is 108553/DJID/2025; for the iPhone 16, the number is 108574/DJID/2025; and for the iPhone 16e, the number is 108575/DJID/2025.

The postel certificate is a requirement for every telecommunications product that will be produced, assembled, embedded, used, and traded in Indonesia. This certificate is also required by manufacturers to obtain the Impor Product Registration (TPP) from the Ministry of Industry. The manufacturer also still has to fulfill the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) registration obligations.

The Ministry of Industry and Apple had previously agreed on several arrangements, including the development of manufacturing facilities and research centers in Indonesia. Both parties signed the agreement on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

The agreement marks the end of tough negotiations between Apple and the Indonesian Government. In 2024, this technology giant was briefly barred from supplying the iPhone 16 to Indonesia because it had not met the requirements of locally made components and some certification obligations. If the launch schedule for the iPhone 16 series has been set, Apple is likely to have completed all the obligations mentioned above.
