It’s time to cut loose and come watch “Footloose” at Moravia High School this spring. Students in grades 6-12 have been diligently perfecting their dancing skills to learn this high energy production.
The story of the show begins when city kid, Ren, leaves Chicago with his mother, Ethel to adapt to rural life in the town of Bomont. Upon arrival in the small town, Ren is greeted by Reverend Shaw, his wife Vi, and their rebellious daughter, Ariel.
With the help of a local cowboy, Willard and Ariel’s three best friends, Ren discovers that the town is watching his every move and struggles to adapt to their strict lifestyle which includes a law against dancing. With the help of Ariel, Ren learns the true meaning of why these laws were created and seeks to help the town move forward and bring back joy to the community.
