    Average stipend offered for summer internship at IIM Indore up 12%

    NEW DELHI: The average stipend offered to students of Indian Institute of Management Indore by companies offering summer internships this year stands at Rs 1.68 lakh per month, up 12% from Rs 1.5 lakh last year, officials said.

    Female students on an average have received 24% higher stipend than their male counterparts in the summer internship placements, officials said. The highest stipend offered was Rs 4 lakh, the same as the previous year.

    IIM Indore has the biggest batch strength of 589 students in the class of 2021, including 258, or 44%, girls.

    “Placing the largest number of students across all IIMs for the summers is a big task,” said Himanshu Rai, director of IIM Indore. “Our students are among the brightest in the world, and the summer placement offers are a testimony to that.”

    More than 160 recruiters, including Amazon, Google, Boston Consulting Group, Ernst & Young, Deloitte USI, Hindustan Unilever, Aditya Birla Group, Goldman Sachs, and OLX participated in the placement process this year where 21% of the batch received offers for profiles in analytics and ecommerce domain.

    There were 39 companies visiting the campus for the first time, who including Adani Group, Capgemini (ELITE), Diageo, GEP Consulting, Microsoft, Reckitt Benckiser, Salesforce, Walmart Labs and Xiaomi.

    Companies offering roles in analytics and ecommerce included Blackbuck, Cisco, Media.net, Salesforce, Udaan and Walmart Labs.

    Recruiters in the BFSI domain included Barclays, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase, Edelweiss, HSBC and State Street.

    Prominent recruiters in the consulting domain this year included Avalon Consulting, Bain Capability Network and PwC.

    In the sales and marketing domain, companies like Aditya Birla Fashion Retail, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Dabur, and ITC participated.
