Mel B has demanded that the CEO of Tesco contacts her “urgently” after an image of the singer featured in a recent advert for the supermarket’s clubcard scheme.

The Spice Girls star, real name Melanie Brown, shared a photo of the advertisement on her Instagram account on Monday afternoon.

The campaign features an old photo of Brown performing as Scary Spice during the Spice Girls’ 90s heyday, wearing her iconic leopard print outfit.

A speech bubble pointing from Brown’s mouth references the band’s hit Stop and reads: “Stop right now. You get 10% off two big shops a month for £7.99.”

Another speech bubble reads: “Thank you very much.”

She wrote alongside the post: “Can the CEO OF @tescofood DAVE LEWIS PLEASE CONTACT ME URGENTLY. Thank you.”

Interior designer Meg Mathews commented “Oh s***........ Not good” while garage star DJ Spoony added: “Hahaha…… Did you not get the email??”

Standard Online has contacted Tesco for further comment.

The Spice Girls previously appeared in an advert for the supermarket back in 2007 to coincide with their first reunion tour.

Brown starred in the short clip alongside bandmates Geri Horner, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham.

The advert sees the girl band shopping for last minute Christmas gifts in Tesco before awkwardly bumping into each other in the aisles.

Memorable moments include Beckham attempting to camouflage herself by standing in front of a magazine cover with her face on while Bunton walks past with a trolley and Chisholm hiding behind a Christmas tree to avoid Horner.

Brown, meanwhile, dons a sci-fi helmet to disguise herself from Beckham.
