XLRI's MBA student gets internship stipend offer of ₹2.5 lakh monthly

Amazon made the highest number of offers amongst the regular recruiters at XLRI Jamshedpur

    NEW DELHI : An MBA student of XLRI-Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, has bagged an internship stipend of 2.5 lakh monthly, the institute has announced. In a statement, XLRI said it has completed its summer internship placement process for 2019-21 batch within two days. The batch consisting 361 students has achieved 100% placement.

    The average stipend saw an increase to 1.2 lakh per month from 1.07 lakh per month in 2018 while the highest stipend stood at Rs. 2.5 lakh per month offered in the BFSI sector.

    This year, the summer internship program saw participation from 86 recruiters, including 11 first-time recruiters, XLRI said.

    Amazon made the highest number of offers amongst the regular recruiters such as The Boston Consulting Group, Microsoft, P&G, Aditya Birla Group, ITC, Nestle, Hindustan Unilever, Mondelez, Mahindra & Mahindra, Citibank and others. First-time recruiters included companies such as Bain & Co., Adani Group, Diageo, NIIF, Kornferry, PhonePe, Mars and Udaan, amongst others.

    Steel giants such as Tata Steel and JSW also participated in the process along with regular recruiters from the automotive sector such as Bajaj. E-commerce saw a massive jump in offers being extended led by Amazon, the institute said adding that XLRI has also established itself as a campus preferred by FMCGs.

    “This has been a good year for summer recruitments. We are extremely grateful to all the recruiters for showing belief in the XLRI institutional brand and our students," said Fr. P. Christie S.J., Director, XLRI- Xavier School of Management.

    The top segments based on roles offered were consulting, sales and marketing, and BFSI.
