JAKARTA — Roy Doliguez is confident his first win in the ONE Championship is just a day away.

The Filipino bet is looking end his futility in the promotion on Saturday when he takes on Yago Bryan of Brazil in their strawweight battle at ONE: Total Victory at Jakarta Convention Center.

“This is mine,” Doliguez kept on repeating as he met with select members of the media at Nam Hotel here on Friday.

Doliguez, who has a professional record of 6-4, has lost all his three matches in ONE Championship.

And the 35-year-old wants to get that triumph as quick as he can as he tries to go for the knockout.

“My game plan is to knock him out. I never stopped training and even went to Wildcard Boxing Gym in General Santos just to train. So I have the advantage in boxing,” he said.

But Doliguez isn’t underestimating his foe, with Bryan also gunning to end his own two-match losing skid and nab his first win in ONE Championship.

He believes that most of the match will be fought standing, but he’s well prepared if the former Shooto South American Strawweight Champion takes the match to the ground.

“I know that he’s going for the takedown, but he can’t resist on engaging on a boxing match against me because of his brazilian jiu-jitsu background. But boxing should be my advantage, and if he wants to go on a striking duel with me, I know that I’m smarter than him. I have a plan against him,” he said.

Raring to leave the dark chapters of his career behind, Doliguez vowed that the fighter entering the cage on Saturday will be a whole new fighter.

“I guarantee, what you will see will be a good fight. It’s going to be a new Roy Doliguez who is going to be aggressive,” he said. “This chance is mine and this fight is mine.”
